Brooklyn Lacrosse Club is providing opportunities for Brooklyn youth of all experience levels and backgrounds to enjoy the sport.

Despite its Native American origin, over time the sport became popular amongst the wealthy and their Ivy League institutions. Now, a new generation of players is coming up, and the sport provides great opportunities for Black youth to excel in a sport where they are traditionally underrepresented. Scholarships are waiting for young players who take advantage of everything that Lacrosse offers.

In this episode we hear from Khalid West, Co-founder and Executive Director of the Brooklyn Lacrosse Club, as well as coaches David Pérez, Lee Walker, and David Swartz. They describe the mission of this volunteer-led organization as the players practice on the field at Pier 5, Brooklyn Bridge Park.
