Hey guys, I went over to Little Island on opening day and made this walk-through video. A lot of people are saying it’s hard to tell from photos what it’s really like there and this will show you. I spliced together the most impressive parts so you could get the general idea in just 15 minutes.

Watch this episode for a first-on-the-scene exciting walk through the GRAND OPENING of NYC’s NEWEST PARK, which is actually an artificial island floating above the Hudson River on giant pod-shaped stilts!! I went on the morning of Friday May 21 to get a first look at the whole thing and bring it to you! The island was designed by Thomas Heatherwick, who also did Vessel at Hudson Yards. Little Island has a large sloping lawn, two performance spaces including a 700 seat amphitheater, a plaza with food options, and lots of trees and plants. The whole thing was a gift to the City of New York from Barry Diller and his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, costing over $230 million dollars for construction and another $120 million from the philanthropist couple to fund maintenance of the park for the first twenty years!
